Brussels Diwali Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary at the foot of the Atomium
A decade of light. On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026, the Brussels Diwali Festival celebrates its 10th edition on the Atomium esplanade — and for this anniversary, it returns with its biggest edition to date, under the theme “Culture United”.
Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, celebrates the victory of light over darkness. For ten years, Brussels has hosted this celebration at the foot of the Atomium, bringing together cultures, generations and communities around Indian traditions and creativity.

“Culture United”: culture as a bridge
This 10th edition, supported by the City of Brussels and the Embassy of India, celebrates a decade of encounters and sharing, while affirming the festival’s calling: bringing cultures into dialogue in the heart of Brussels.
“A decade already that Diwali has been lighting up Brussels, introducing us to all the richness of Indian culture! Its theme, ‘Culture United’, represents exactly what we seek to defend at the City of Brussels: culture in all its forms, dialogue between peoples and the promotion of local know-how. So may the light continue to triumph in Brussels, and let the celebration begin! Happy birthday, Diwali!” — Nawal Ben Hamou, Alderwoman for Culture at the City of Brussels.
Two days of continuous programming
For two days, artists and Indian communities from across Europe will share the stage with a continuous programme blending classical dance, Hindustani and Carnatic music, folk traditions and Bollywood.
