Some exhibitions you look at. Others you almost want to touch. In Saint-Gilles, the PARADIS ART ROOM presents “A Touch of Presence”, the new exhibition by Austrian-Belgian artist Izabel Angerer. And the opening is free and open to all: come along!
🎨 A line, a dot, a moment
Izabel Angerer’s practice is based on a focused yet open process. Her densely placed lines testify to precision while being carried by minimal deviations. Her perforations accumulate progressively but never uniformly, shifting their rhythm and turning the support into a dynamic, at times almost tactile surface.
Every mark is part of a sequence. Through repetition, deviation and spontaneity, the time of creation itself becomes the meaning of each work.
🌊 Heraclitus as a starting point
The artist draws on the pre-Socratic philosopher Heraclitus and his central idea that everything flows. For her, a work is not a timeless object but a carrier of past actions that remain inscribed in the material.

PARADIS ART ROOM is an exhibition programme dedicated to contemporary artists, inside the Paradis Superstore shop. Each exhibition comes with a signed limited edition made especially by the artist: a lovely chance to acquire a first work at an approachable price.
