A new artisan chocolate shop in the Galeries Royales

Stroll under the glass roof of the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, walk past the Taverne du Passage, and look up: PASSION CHOCOLAT, in golden letters on an empire green background, at No. 32, Galerie de la Reine. Inside, a deep red interior, with wallpaper teeming with giraffes, panthers, and herons — a dialogue between Belgian surrealism and the animal kingdom. Custom furniture, cabochon tiles, exclusive wallpaper: every detail has been drawn by hand.

Since spring 2026, this has been the new heart of Passion Chocolat, a brand founded in 1998 in an Etterbeek cellar. This is its ninth location, and the brand'''s first in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert — earning it the Certified Artisan 2026 label. All pralines are handmade in a workshop located a few kilometres from the centre of Brussels.

What is a 'Certified Artisan' chocolatier in Belgium?

  • 🏛 Certified Artisan 2026 Label — an official recognition granted to businesses that demonstrate true artisanal skill, authentic production, and high standards. A clear response to the industrialisation of “Belgian” chocolate made… elsewhere.
  • 🎨 A gem designed by Marie de Giey & Tatiana de Nicolay: the illustrator-designer co-created the entire visual and decorative identity — furniture, wallpapers, decorative elements, right down to the cabochon tiling. The running theme is Belgian surrealism and the animal world.
  • 👩‍🍳 100% Family · 100% Handmade · Certified Artisan — the promise displayed on the back wall, and kept for 28 years.
  • 🇧🇪 Ninth boutique in the Passion Chocolat network, and the brand'''s first address under the glass roof of the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert.

The family-owned vision for authentic chocolate

Cédric de Caritat, owner of Passion Chocolat, summarises the ambition:

"Opening a boutique in the Galerie de la Reine means becoming part of the rich history of Belgian chocolate, while affirming what makes us different: sincere, demanding, and profoundly human craftsmanship."

Marie de Giey, who designs each new boutique with Tatiana de Nicolay, has crafted a coherent visual universe: Belgian surrealism, the animal world, exclusive wallpaper, signature furniture, right down to the cabochon tiles.
