In Beijing, AGI Bar serves unlimited DeepSeek with your pint. Brussels has everything it takes.
China has opened the first bar where artificial intelligence is literally on tap. And Brussels? Nobody has dared yet.
🍺 AGI Bar, Beijing: the bar whose Wi-Fi pours tokens
The place is called AGI Bar, on Zhongguancun Startup Street (Inno Way) in Beijing’s Haidian district, a stone’s throw from Tsinghua and Peking University. It opened on 1 June 2025, Children’s Day in China — a deliberate wink from its founder: “may our story become the fairy tale of the next generation”.
Owner Song De, an independent AI developer, sums up the concept in one line: AI and alcohol share three things — hallucinations, bubbles and distillation.
🤖 Since 4 August 2026: DeepSeek free, unlimited
The bar launched an “unlimited free tokens” service: order a drink, connect to the house Wi-Fi, and you get a Base URL and an API key giving free access to DeepSeek V4 Flash. Inference runs locally on an NVIDIA DGX Spark workstation bought by the bar. The keys plug straight into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Cherry Studio.
In other words: here, free Wi-Fi has not been replaced by a menu, but by compute.
🍸 The menu: “A Glass of Insight”
The signature cocktail is called AGI — a glass filled entirely with foam, at 9.9 yuan (about €1.20). Other cocktails go for 39 yuan. There is no de-foaming service: “foam is the most sincere product of a booming era”, writes the founder.
The venue has become a hub for Beijing’s AI developers, investors and students, with product launches happening at the counter. A second address opened in Shanghai, and Midjourney founder David Holz dropped by during a trip to China. Song De now wants humanoid robots serving the drinks.
