Free rooftops to see Brussels from above: your weekend plan

It’s Friday, the sun is out, and the same question comes back every week: what do we do this weekend in Brussels? The Café du Manneken’s answer: we go up. Literally. Here is a report on the five finest rooftops in the capital, each with the venue, the address and the official link. Two of them are even free to enter.

1. Rooftop 58 — the city’s own roof, on the 9th floor of Brucity

The place. It is the best-kept secret downtown: the roof terrace of Brucity, the administrative centre of the City of Brussels, is open to the public all year round. The non-horeca part is free of charge, with no obligation to order, and accessible to people with reduced mobility, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Next door, Rooftop 58 unfolds its 360° terrace — billed as Europe’s largest outdoor & indoor rooftop — with DJ sets, sharing plates and sunsets over the Grand-Place, the Town Hall and the Atomium.

2. Bozar Rooftop — L’Heure Bleue, free entry until 20 September

The place. On top of the Centre for Fine Arts, the Bozar Rooftop is back for summer 2026, run by Pali Pali. The scenography by Bento Architecture is called “L’Heure Bleue”: floating materials, light installations and a central dance floor for that suspended moment between day and night. Programme and partners are 100% Belgian, and best of all: entry is free, from 4 June to 20 September, Wednesday to Sunday, 4pm to 11pm.

3. The BeerLab Rooftop — 150 Belgian beers above the Bourse

The place. Perched on top of the Bourse, above Belgian Beer World, the BeerLab Rooftop pours 150 Belgian beers with a 360° view over the city-centre rooftops. Access to the terrace is via Rue de la Bourse and Rue de Tabora: the hop lovers’ address at golden hour.

4. Casa Alta — Viage’s Mediterranean rooftop

The place. On Boulevard Anspach, Viage opens its summer rooftop Casa Alta: Mediterranean vibes, cocktails, tapas and sunset over the city-centre roofs. Entry to the venue is free, but access is 21+ only and an ID card is required.

5. Perché — the rooftop with a pool, on top of hotel JAM

The place. The most stylish of the selection: Perché sits literally on the roof of hotel JAM in Saint-Gilles. Open views over the city, an outdoor pool facing the panorama, relaxed food and DJs until late. Open every day from 5pm to 1am, no booking needed.

The last word

You need neither a big budget nor a complicated booking to see Brussels from above: the City opens its roof, Bozar opens its own, and three more terraces do the rest. That is what a positive capital looks like: beauty, free access and the instant urge to go out. See you up there at sunset. 💙
