Brussels, seen from above
Above Brucity, the City of Brussels administrative centre, Rooftop 58 offers a different perspective on the capital: panoramic views, rooftops stretching towards the horizon and a place to meet above the bustle of the city centre.
The venue describes itself as Europe’s largest indoor-and-outdoor rooftop. It advertises more than 3,000 m² of open-air space and a 360° view. “Europe’s largest” is the venue’s description, not an independently established ranking presented by us.
Two floors, two experiences
On the 8th floor, the Penthouse combines an indoor bar, a panoramic glass wall and a terrace advertised as offering a 270° view. The official website describes food and drinks, table service and DJ sets. This space is presented as open all year.
On the 9th floor, the outdoor rooftop takes on a relaxed urban-guinguette feel, with ordering at the bar and views across Brussels. The official photographs show greenery, colourful seating and the city as a backdrop: an invitation to look up rather than stay at pavement level.
Before heading up, check which space you mean
Rooftop 58 currently announces that its outdoor rooftop is closed until spring 2027. The Penthouse is still described as open throughout the year, but the opening-hours page we consulted shows the week of 12–18 October. Those hours do not confirm opening on Sunday 25 October. Check the official hours before travelling.
The City of Brussels separately describes public access to the 9th-floor terrace, without catering, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm: free, with no obligation to buy anything, and accessible to people with reduced mobility. That access is through the Brucity Atrium at Rue des Halles 4.
The address for the Rooftop 58 venue is Rue de l’Évêque 1, 1000 Brussels. The announced closure of its outdoor bar should not be confused with the published conditions for the public terrace. Consult the relevant source for the space you want to visit.

A small challenge for a fresh look at Brussels
Take a moment in front of the panorama: which rooftops do you recognise? Where does the skyline begin? Which detail had you never noticed from the street? A change in height can be enough to rediscover your own city.
