A few weeks of summer break, then the familiar clatter of pans: Mina has fired up its stoves again on Fernand Cocq Square in Ixelles. A few months after opening, the Italian resto-bar created by Daniel Moriamé returns with a place that has found its rhythm, a kitchen growing into itself and a menu that keeps evolving with fresh, seasonal produce. The new arrival: linguine scoglio, generously loaded with seafood.

🍝 An address that found its rhythm

Since landing on the square, Mina has slipped into the neighbourhood effortlessly. The idea has not changed: a warm, lively Italian address where you come as much for dinner as for a drink, a few shared plates or a longer evening. Over time that identity has sharpened — generous cooking, spontaneous atmosphere, a room that follows the different moments of the night.

Inside, the decor does a lot of the work: warm tones, dimmed light, touches of colour and a resolutely contemporary approach, far from the classic trattoria imagery. Evenings rarely start the same way. Some stop at the bar for a cocktail first, others sit straight down while the antipasti start circulating. At the front, high tables and the bar keep things buzzing; at the back, dinner takes its time.

🦐 A new signature dish for the new season

It is above all in the kitchen that Mina keeps refining its personality. The DNA stays: carefully selected produce, clear and generous Italian recipes, a menu built around what arrives.

The newcomer, set to become the house signature, is the linguine scoglio, served with seafood, parsley and garlic. It joins the fresh pasta already in place — paccheri al ragù, rigatoni cacio e pepe — the artichokes alla giudia and the sharing plates. For meat and fish: tagliata di manzo, veal escalope alla milanese, Mediterranean-style seared red tuna. And to finish: tiramisù, zabaione or affogato.

Because at Mina the plate rarely comes without the glass, the menu is paired with cocktails designed with Samuel Suarez, who spent 15 years behind the bar at Belga Queen, and a largely Italian wine list.
