Alley Mian: the new Michelin Bib Gourmand taking Brussels by storm
Michelin Bib Gourmand in Brussels: house-made Lanzhou noodles, a spectacular beef rib and a warm welcome, tested by Les Recos de Lio.
中文版 · Article en chinois · ExclusivitéAlley Mian, a new Michelin Bib Gourmand in central Brussels
Steps from La Monnaie, Alley Mian has become one of Brussels’ most talked-about tables. The Michelin Guide recognises it with a Bib Gourmand for good quality and good value cooking.
Stocks simmer while noodles are kneaded, stretched and folded in front of diners. The kitchen delivers the direct flavours of Lanzhou. According to BRUZZ, Alley Mian means “noodle alley”: from the street, diners can watch the lamian shifu, a master of hand-pulled noodles, working behind the window. The menu also includes several vegetarian dishes.
🏆 Exclusive: the brand-new “Les Meilleurs Restaurants de Bruxelles” label
And the good news does not stop at the Bib Gourmand. Alley Mian has just received the brand-new “Les Meilleurs Restaurants de Bruxelles” label, awarded by the BXL Positive 2027 guide. As the first Asian restaurant to be honoured, the rue de l’Écuyer address joins the very first selection of this Brussels guide. The BXL Positive committee and the best-restaurants guide actually came one lunchtime, incognito, before awarding this distinction. Its listing can be found on lesmeilleursrestaurantsdebruxelles.com.
Les Recos de Lio goes behind the scenes
An initial anonymous visit by the team had already delivered a genuine “wow”. We therefore sent Lionel Bertrand back to film what happens behind the bowls.
The team opened its kitchen to him. The video shows the house-made noodles being prepared and the precise movements that turn dough into long, supple ribbons.
The beef rib in the broth
This is the dish that stops every conversation: a whole braised beef rib placed in the broth with the noodles. Such a generous presentation remains rare in Brussels.
The Michelin Guide highlights the gutsy stocks and house-made noodles. It also gives a clear warning: no bookings are accepted. Le Fooding describes Alley Mian as the spacious restaurant-workshop run by Yadan Zheng and Lingyuan Wei, already known for Car Bon, with lāmiàn pulled on site behind the window. Its page published on 9 February 2026 lists starters from €6 to €8.80, noodles from €9.90 to €21.80 and desserts from €7 to €8.80.
An exceptionally warm welcome
During filming, Lionel was allowed into the kitchen and the restaurant offered the entire table’s meal. We disclose this for transparency: the invitation did not alter our assessment. Our first visit was anonymous and had already convinced us.
The verdict: attentive service, vibrant cooking and memorable dishes. Arrive early and be prepared to wait. 💙
